The busy schedule of new and returning cigars has been keeping up at Burns the last few weeks, so we have plenty to let you know about today…
The latest release from CAO is the Pilon, a cigar celebrating the long-abandoned traditional Cuban style of fermenting tobacco leaves in round pilons. This is said to maximize the flavor of the leaves by allowing them to ferment longer at lower temperatures. They are using Ecuadorian Habano for the wrapper (in the round pilons mentioned) and Nicaraguan binder and filler (including some from Estelí and Ometepe). We have 3 sizes available now.
We have also brought back some old favorites from the CAO catalog, including La Traviata, hailed as one of CAO’s greatest blends ever, and Gold, their best-selling blend. You, the customer, spoke…we listened!
Nica Rustica by Drew Estate
Nica Rustica made its debut two years with the toro-sized El Brujito. This year Drew Estate added two more vitolas to the line: a 4-1/2” x 50 Short Robusto and a 7 x 54 torpedo called “Belly.” Both are available right now.
Duque by Kings Cigars
El Duque is the latest release from the crazy masterminds at Kings Cigars. This short figurado features a Connecticut Shade wrapper leaf over Ligero fillers that really pack a punch. Don’t go into this one thinking it’s going to be a typical mild Conny…it will surprise you!
Futuro by Warped Cigars
The latest from Warped has hit our shelves: Futuro. This cigar is made in Nicaragua by the Casa Fernandez folks and is one of the best yet from Warped. It has medium body with some great sweetness. Available in 2 vitolas.
If you know who Curivari Cigars is, you are probably already familiar with the Buenaventura and Achilles blends. This year they have released new versions of each of them, with a darker wrapper leaf. Information is scarce for these, but we believe they are Oscuro wrapper leaves on both and really change up the blend profile. As with any Curivari quantities are limited, so jump on these while you can!
Another instance of “You spoke, we listened!” La Gloria Cubana’s Serie R makes a return appearance to Burns after several years off the shelf. We have both Natural and Maduro versions, in two sizes each.
Dámaso by Padron
The long-awaited and much heralded new blend from Padron is here! This is a medium-bodied blend of Nicaraguan filler and binder leaves, covered with a creamy Connecticut Shade wrapper. The result is a smooth and flavorful smoke that ranks among the best…think of it as a milder, Shade-based version of the 1964 Anniversary Series.
